SEPTA Welcome Letter

September 2026

To All West Babylon Families:

The West Babylon SEPTA Board and I would like to welcome everyone back for another wonderful and exciting school year. The Special Education PTA (SEPTA) works to promote a rewarding educational and social experience for all children. We strive to elevate community awareness, acceptance, and support of all our special needs students. We also work to enrich parents and families with valuable information, resources, and social activities.

SEPTA is a resource for ALL West Babylon families.

Our SEPTA membership drive has begun, and our hope is that every family becomes a member of SEPTA. Your membership and participation in our SEPTA enables us to continue annual events for all children and their families throughout the district.

In addition to our monthly PTA meetings, we have a Parent Support Group that meets outside of school. We are planning exciting events such as a special needs family-friendly photo shoot, our annual Psychic Night, an ice cream social, and Parent Self-Care Night. We have many presentations in the works for the year. Some presentations we've covered in the past have been Preventing Parent Burnout, Sibling Support, Behavior Management, and much more. Stay tuned for what's coming this year!

• First SEPTA Meeting of the 2026-2027 School Year:

  Thursday, September 10th at 7:00 PM

  Location: Senior High School Library

• First Parent Support Group Meeting:

  Thursday, October 27th at 7:00 PM

  Location: Panera Bread in West Babylon

We will also have many ways for you to become more involved with SEPTA, connect with other families in the district, and get information and resources to better support your children.
