2026 Families Welcome Back Letter

Dear West Babylon Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I hope your summer was filled with joy and relaxation—whether spent traveling, relaxing at the beach, or simply enjoying quality time with family and friends. We are so excited to welcome our students and faculty back. We are also excited to share our 2026 informational family packets as well as some great news about our physical school spaces!

• Superintendent’s Conference Day: Tuesday, September 1, 2026 (Staff and Faculty)
   
• First Day of School: Wednesday, September 2, 2026

  Forms that require a parent signature will be sent home with all students on the first day of school, September 2nd. Kindergarten students will receive the entire informational packet via mail. 
   
• Junior High School Recreation Area: Over the summer, our JHS recreation area was completely transformed and is now nearing completion. Once the construction project has been completed, our students will be able to enjoy a new handball court, updated tennis and basketball courts, and shaded seating areas!
   
• Upcoming Projects: Pending approval from the State Education Department (SED), we are eager to move forward this school year with new parking areas at both Tooker Avenue and JFK Elementary, new ceiling tiles and lighting throughout the district, a complete upgrade of our JHS technology room and a new PA system at the SHS.
   

As we step into this new school year, our staff and faculty focus remains squarely on supporting our students and each other. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment built on mutual respect, shared goals, and open communication. Our 2026 goals and actions prioritize student services, student behavior, safety, facilities upgrades, and the establishment of West Babylon’s Portrait of a Graduate. Together, we will ensure that every student receives the academic, social, and emotional support they need to thrive while operating within our planned school budget.
