BOE 2026 Welcome to New School Year Letter

Greetings to all friends, family, neighbors, and staff of the West Babylon School

Community.

On behalf of the West Babylon Board of Education, we would like to welcome you to the new school year. We hope the summer offered a much-deserved break from the school-year routine, some relaxation, and enough time to start the new year. As we prepare to send off the class of 2027, our next group of delegates from West Babylon to the world, we also proudly welcome the families and graduating class of 2039.

We can’t help but reflect not only on the generations of students who have passed through our district halls, but also on the dedicated staff members whose efforts have made our success possible. Every year, we are fortunate to attend the end-of-year retirement ceremony to recognize their decades of hard work and efforts in education. The celebration brings about many feelings of appreciation and pride, and serves as a reminder of the importance of their role in impacting students. We also look forward to welcoming the district’s newest employees and those who will join us throughout the year to our community.

While our district continues to evolve from what it may have looked and operated like all those years ago, there is comfort in knowing the spirit of West Babylon will endure. This is made possible by the dedicated staff and families who attend our district events and school activities, participate and volunteer in our building PTA units, and foster new relationships focused on students.

Our district’s history and success are not only reflective of the generations of students who have passed through our halls, but also of the generations of district staff and productive community collaboration that make it all possible.
