Meet the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction

Mr. Scott Payne started his educational career as a science teacher for grades fifth through ninth at the Green Vale School.  In addition, during that time, Mr. Payne began teaching at Columbia University’s Math and Science Enrichment Program and at C.W. Post University’s Gifted and Talented Program.  After leaving Green Vale School, Mr. Payne became a faculty member at North Shore High School teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Earth Science.  Additionally, he was also appointed Dean of Students.  Mr. Payne became a part of the West Babylon community at the end of 2001 as the Assistant Principal of the Junior High School.  After showing he could successfully “Be All You Can Be” he was then appointed as JHS Principal in 2008.  After proudly serving as Principal at the Junior High School for eight years, Mr. Payne was again honored to become the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the West Babylon School District.  In April 2018, he received a title change to Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. 

Mr. Payne considers it an honor and a privilege to work with the talented West Babylon staff to help serve students as they learn and grow!
