Dear Freshmen and Parents/Guardians:
I hope that you are enjoying every aspect of your summer vacation. In addition, I would like to wish you a belated congratulations on graduating from the Junior High School. It was a pleasure attending your graduation ceremony in June, and Mr. Devane, Mr. Fiore and myself are anxiously awaiting your arrival to the High School.
The school year will begin for all students on Wednesday, September 2nd at 7:15 a.m. When arriving to the high school on Wednesday morning, all students will report to their homeroom. This classroom number will appear on your child's schedule on the Parent and Student portals.
Student schedules will be made available on the Portals on Wednesday, August 26th. Guidance Counselors will be reviewing schedules throughout the summer, and official schedules, along with your student planner, will be distributed on the first day of school.
In addition, we are happy to announce that the high school will be continuing to utilize Scholarchip, which is a school management system requiring students to swipe their ID card to gain entrance to the building, as well as various other locations in the building. As a result, students will be issued a new ID card that must be brought to school every day and worn visibly throughout their school day. Your new high school ID will be issued as soon as they are available.
Finally, once the school year begins, the high school administration will hold grade level assemblies to discuss the Code of Conduct, the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA), attendance requirements, eligibility requirements, emergency procedures, and the expectations that we have for all students. These assemblies will occur within the first few days of school.
