John F. Kennedy Elementary School held its annual science fair day on April 29. Two students, who are also sisters, were selected to represent their school at the Brookhaven National Laboratory’s Science Fair in June.

Fourth grader Brooke Leo and second grader Mallory Leo have been chosen to represent John F. Kennedy Elementary School, where their projects will be judged against other students from across Suffolk County. Brooke’s project, “The Power of Words,” explored the concept of how positive/negative feedback impacts confidence and performance. Mallory’s project, “Can You Hear Me Know?,” explored sound and whether sound can travel through all materials or only certain materials.
