West Babylon Junior High School sixth grader Zarrah Gomez was selected as a winner of the Suffolk County Water Authority Art Challenge Contest. Students were tasked with creating artwork in recognition of Drinking Water Week (May 4-10) to reflect the theme of “How I use water and why it's important.” On May 20, she was recognized at an awards ceremony at SCWA headquarters to celebrate her achievement. She was one of two winners selected for her age group and her work will be displayed at the SCWA public facilities and will be used for print and social media publications.
