South Bay Elementary School celebrated Global School Play Day on Feb. 3 by creating a cardboard arcade in the school’s cafeteria. Enrichment students used upcycled materials to reimagine their favorite arcade games. Inspired by Caine’s Arcade – the story of a boy who created an arcade out of boxes and everyday objects – the students used materials from around their house to assembly their favorite game. South Bay students each had the chance to visit the arcade throughout the day. They received three tickets and choose their favorite games to play.
