Kindness is contagious at Forest Avenue Elementary School as the school celebrated their first month of school with a bucket filling assembly on Sept. 30. Each class has their own bucket to keep track of their students’ acts of kindness throughout the month and teachers fill the bucket with a pompom for each kind act. During the assembly, each class shared the number of kind acts performed in September and then tallied up all the number of the whole school. Forest Avenue performed more than 1,000 acts – 1,003 to be exact – in September alone. That number is posted on the bulletin board outside the school’s gymnasium and the goal is to try to beat it each month.
