South Bay Elementary School held its academic growth showcase assemblies to recognize students throughout the school on June 22. The ceremony is held three times a year to recognize different character traits. Nominated by their teachers, students were called up one by one to be recognized for demonstrating self-discipline in their classroom. South Bay Elementary Principal Christina Cotter presented the students with a certificate and spoke about the ways students practiced self-discipline in the classrooms and how they continue in the summer months.
