West Babylon Senior Named National Merit Semifinalist

West Babylon Senior High School student Addison Eglin has been named a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist, placing her among an accomplished group of high school seniors recognized for exceptional academic achievement.
The National Merit Scholarship Program recognizes academically talented students across the country. Semifinalists are selected based on their performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, representing a significant academic accomplishment.
As a National Merit semifinalist, Addison is now eligible to continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships. Finalists will be selected after students complete additional requirements, with scholarship recipients to be announced later in the school year.
Throughout high school, Addison has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence, taking on challenging coursework while contributing to the school community. In addition, she is serving as the ex officio student member on the board of education this year.
“This recognition is a reflection of Addison’s hard work, determination and commitment to academic excellence. We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment,” said West Babylon Senior High School Principal Stephen O’Leary.
