The new Rise and Read morning program at Tooker Avenue Elementary School is aimed at English as a New Language students and their families. The program is open to all grades. It meets Tuesday mornings before school for 11 sessions and is designed to get the families involved in the school community. Students eat breakfast together, read stories – tied to the seasons or different cultural events – and do crafts.
