In recognition of Global Day of Play, South Bay Elementary School created a cardboard arcade on Feb. 7. Inspired by the true story of Caine’s Arcade, enrichment students in grades three, four and five created their own arcade games made of upcycled materials. The cardboard arcade was set up in the school’s cafeteria. Classes came down to visit and each student received a fun pass to play each game one time. The arcade was filled with everything one would expect including skeeball, basketball free throws, a crane machine, air hockey and a ring toss.
