West Babylon Senior High School junior Addison Eglin has been named a recipient of The Rensselaer Medal. This premier award is worth $40,000 per year ($160,000 total over four years, or five years for B.Arch students). Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute awards this scholarship to outstanding secondary school juniors who distinguish themselves in mathematics and science.  
Eglin, who is a National Merit Commended Student, was awarded the scholarship based on school counselor and administer recommendations. She will also be serving as the ex-officio Board of Education member beginning in July.
