Inspiring Future Accountants at Discovery Day
Students in Mrs. Reilly-Johnson’s College Accounting class from West Babylon Senior High School attended Accounting Discovery Day at Hofstra University’s Zarb School of Business, co-hosted by the accounting firm Grant Thornton. During the visit, students explored the university’s academic environment by touring classrooms and connecting with faculty, current students, accounting professionals and alumni.
At this career exploration event, students learned about a variety of accounting career paths, heard firsthand from professionals at major firms, and gained insight into how technology is shaping the field. They also had the opportunity to network in an academic setting and ask questions about college and career readiness.
The experience provided valuable exposure to higher education and future opportunities in accounting, leaving students inspired and motivated as they consider their next steps beyond high school.
