Tooker Fifth Graders Explore U.S. Presidents

Fifth grade students at Tooker Avenue Elementary School recently completed an engaging social studies project focused on the branches of the United States government and the role of the presidency.
As part of the assignment, each student was assigned a United States president to research. Students gathered information about their president’s life and leadership, including their education, background, key contributions while in office, and interesting facts.
After conducting their research, fifth graders compiled their findings into written reports and created visual components to accompany their work. The projects featured a variety of creative formats, including posters, dioramas, PowerPoint presentations and Google Slides presentations.
Students then presented their research to their classmates, sharing what they had learned about the presidents and their impact on the nation. The project provided an opportunity to strengthen research, writing and presentation skills while deepening students’ understanding of American history and government.
