Bringing History to Life in Fourth Grade

Fourth grade students at John F. Kennedy Elementary School took part in a hands-on day of learning on Feb. 14 thanks to a special visit from Journeys Into American Indian Territory.
During the interactive program, students learned about Native American history, culture and traditions through engaging presentations and activities. The experience brought social studies lessons to life, allowing students to deepen their understanding of Indigenous peoples and their way of life.
Through demonstrations, artifacts and storytelling, fourth graders explored how Native Americans lived, worked and contributed to American history. The visit provided a meaningful opportunity for students to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences. The program aligns with fourth grade social studies curriculum standards and supports the district's commitment to providing diverse, inclusive educational experiences.
