Fifth grade students at Tooker Avenue Elementary School have been researching young people who have made a difference in the world. This included William Kamkwamba, an African boy who built a windmill for his village from scraps at a junkyard. Kamkwamba used pictures from books at the library to help provide electricity to pump water during a drought. As part of a STEM activity, the fifth graders worked in pairs to design and build their own windmills.
