First Potato Olympics Held at Forest Avenue

From Oct. 18-22, Forest Avenue Elementary School held its first Potato Olympics.

Each class choose a country to represent in the Olympics. Each student brought in their own potato Olympian to compete in the different events throughout the week. After the opening ceremonies on Monday, the potatoes competed in different events including high dive, gymnastics, spinning, luge and track and field.

Following each event, gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded to the top-ranking participants in each class. On the final day, the students closed out the Olympics with a traditional parade.
