Students at Tooker Avenue Elementary School recently combined a lesson in art and music. Tooker Avenue art teacher Mrs. Hill and music teacher Mrs. Bracco taught a collaborative lesson to Mrs. Ayerle and Mrs. Valdemira’s second grade class. Students were shown two contrasting music videos and instructed to draw lines for what they heard, then color in pictures. Textures were added through color. The pieces were Indian classical music featuring the bansuri (flute,) and hand drum; and O Fortuna, a medieval Latin choral piece from 1836.
