Third graders in Debbie LoSardo’s class at South Bay Elementary School worked on their problem-solving skills during a group activity in September. As part of a hands-on STEAM project, the students were grouped into teams and had to get a gummy worm into a gummy lifesaver and into his capsized boat using only paper clips. They had to plan, implement and reflect on their team decisions.
