Senior High School student Alejandra Alvarado has achieved certification as a New York State emergency medical technician/certified first responder. EMTs are first responders in the event of medical emergencies. Alejandra has been a volunteer junior firefighter with the West Babylon Fire Department and has been an officer for the last two years. The primary function of a junior firefighter is to train with experienced firefighters and to assist at fire scenes within their response area.
