Students in Cathleen Saxer’s fourth-grade class at Forest Avenuet
recently read Wendy Ewald’s book "The Best Part of Me.” The students
used the book to build self-confidence, appreciating who they are and
accepting others' differences. Through this literacy through photography
writing project, students wrote descriptive literature about their
favorite part of themselves and paired them with striking
black-and-white portraits. The project has cultivated a positive
classroom community; one that is accepting of diversity.
