Amanda Klobestanz, a fourth-grader at Santapogue, has been selected as an honorable mention winner in the Town of Babylon Veterans Awareness Essay Contest.

As a kickoff to Veterans Awareness Week, Klobestanz was invited to an awards ceremony at Babylon Town Hall on Oct. 28, where she was presented with an award and an opportunity to read her essay, “When is the right time to honor our military heroes?”
