Forest Avenue fifth-grader Daniel Papillo was named the winner of the New York Yankees Radio Network Junior Broadcaster Contest.

After submitting an essay on why he wanted to be a junior broadcaster for the Yankees, Daniel was chosen to audition at WFAN Studios in New York City.

Daniel was named the first-place winner and was selected to broadcast live from Yankee Stadium on WFAN Radio (660 AM or 101.9 FM) in the bottom of the second inning during the Sept. 25 baseball game alongside Yankee broadcasters John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman.
