As part of the third grade curriculum, Forest Avenue’s third graders explored, discovered and learned what owls really consume through the dissection of owl pellets. With the help of teachers Holly Massmann and Frank Riviezzo, parents and guardians, the West Babylon students were able to dissect the owl pellets to uncover skeletal remains, which were pieced together to figure out exactly what had been consumed. The class learned that owls eat frogs after piecing together a frog skeleton.
