Third graders at John F. Kennedy Elementary School have been learning about the cultures in Kenya, China and Brazil during their recent social studies lesson. As a culminating activity, the students created their own cultural projects featuring their family history. Students learned a bit about their own family history as they interviewed family members to share some of their traditions, holiday celebrations, favorite recipes and timelines of important events. Students created posters that they shared with the classmates and are displayed outside the third grade classrooms for all to learn about each other.
