Two students from Forest Avenue Elementary School were recently named winners in the Town of Babylon Department of Environmental Control’s third annual Waterways Poster Contest. The contest is open to all fourth and fifth grade students in the Town of Babylon.

The students were tasked with creating a poster that raises the awareness of plastic littering in the waterways. Forest Avenue fourth grader Abby Paolillo was awarded first place and a $500 scholarship, and fourth grader Alexi Sirris was awarded second place and $250 scholarship. Their posters will be on display in public outreach programs and town facilities.
