Pilgrims worked with limited resources to build their homes when they first landed at Pilgrim Rock. As a challenge, Mrs. Crimi’s/Mr. Peterson’s fifth grade students at Santapogue Elementary School were given limited resources: 10 straws, three pieces of construction paper, and two yards of tape to build a house for a pilgrim with a sturdy foundation and a roof to keep them warm and out of the rain and snow.
