AHERA (Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act of 1986) is a Federal Law enacted in 1987.  The law required all school districts to inspect the district’s buildings for asbestos-containing materials.  Our facilities were inspected in accordance with these regulations.  Based upon the findings of the inspections, a management plan, six-month surveillance reports, reinspection reports and abatement reports are on file in the Facilities Office located at 200 Old Farmingdale Road, West Babylon, NY 11704.  All plans are available for inspection at the Facilities Office.  Please call 631-376-7761 to make an appointment.
