New Principal Takes Helm at Forest Avenue

Gayle Manchisi has been named principal of Forest Avenue Elementary School, effective March 9. Ms. Manchisi comes to West Babylon from Baldwin School District, where she served as an assistant principal since 2017.

Prior to her administrative career in the Baldwin School District, Ms. Manchisi was an English supervisor in the district from 2014-2017. She has been in the education field in different capacities since 1987.

Ms. Manchisi has a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from St. Bonaventure University. She holds a master’s degree in education and children at risk from New York Institute of Technology and a school building leader certification from the College of Saint Rose. Ms. Manchisi also holds professional certifications in permanent teaching, school building leader and school district leader.

“It is with great enthusiasm and pride that I am now a part of the West Babylon family as the new principal of Forest Avenue Elementary School,” said Ms. Manchisi. “Becoming a part of a community that sees itself as one huge family is an honor and a responsibility that I do not take lightly. It is my promise to care for your children as if they are my own, and I will always have their best interest and well-being at the forefront of all that I do. I look forward to an amazing journey together.”
