After reading “Snow,” students in Mrs. Belpanno’s kindergarten class at Forest Avenue Elementary School made “speech snow” during a language lesson with Mrs. Belpanno and Mrs. Vlachos. The students followed one- and two-step directions incorporating sequential and spatial concepts as they followed a recipe to make the snow. The students described the snow using their five senses and compared it to real snow. The students then made snowman with the speech snow and left them by the window to see if they would melt.
