Students at Forest Avenue Elementary School celebrated Chinese New Year – the Year of the Rat – during their library classes with librarian Andrea Francisco. The students welcomed in the new year by reading Chinese folktales, fairytales and tall tales. Using their Chromebooks to research China, students learned about the Chinese culture. To celebrate, the students received traditional red envelopes and made Chinese new year banners and crowns.
