Throughout October, John F. Kennedy Elementary School will be collecting new socks to be donated to the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless. Spearheaded by the school quality team and members of the student council, there’s also a schoolwide competition to see which grade level teams can collect the most socks. In addition, students are encouraged to wear silly socks every Friday in October and in recognition of National Walk to School Day.
