West Babylon Junior High School student Isabella Villacis placed first in the state level competition of the New York State Bus Safety Poster Contest.

Hosted by the New York Association for Pupil Transportation, the contest is held every year for students in grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and special education. This year’s theme was “My Driver, My Safety Hero.” 

Last spring, Isabella placed first for the Suffolk County chapter and then on Long Island. Her poster was entered in the state competition in Albany during the summer. The first-place win now takes her poster to the national competition.
