Daniel McKeon has been named principal of West Babylon Junior High School, effective Oct. 17.  Former principal Scott Payne is now the district’s executive director of curriculum and instruction.

McKeon joins the district after serving as the assistant principal of Northport High School since 2010. Prior to that position, he was the curriculum associate for social studies and family and consumer science at Deer Park High School as well as a summer school principal for Deer Park High School and Middle School in addition to various teaching positions at other districts.

McKeon holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from SUNY Albany, a master’s degree in education from Hofstra University and a post-master’s advanced graduate certificate in educational leadership from Stony Brook University.
