Keeping the school-community connection top of mind, student council members at Santapogue recently participated in a Spring Smiles project.

The students created and designed cards and pictures to send to local nursing homes. They discussed how some senior residents may have no families or sparsely decorated living spaces. With this in mind, the student council hoped their creations will bring a smile to the residents’ faces as spring begins.
 
The student council felt it was such a worthwhile project that it decided to invite the entire school to participate. They are collecting additional cards, letters and pictures from all the grades, which will be sent to local area nursing homes.
