Although this year’s master class and showcase have been canceled, two Senior High School students have been chosen for the Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance in Musical Theater. For their performance in “Into the Woods,” Darren Del Orfano and Jenna Halvorsen were picked for the top 50 students in New York State to move onto the preliminary round as best actor and best actress nominees. In this year’s play, Darren was the baker and Jenna performed as the witch. Jenna also went to Roger Rees last year and was in the top 12 for her role as Audrey in “Little Shop of Horrors” presented at the Junior High School. This is the sixth year in a row that West Babylon students have been chosen to be in the top 50.
