Students at South Bay Elementary School started their Hour of Code activities in early December. The students read “How to Code a Sandcastle” and then created coding instructions for some of their favorite things, including tacos, the floss and YouTube channels. Library media specialist Kara Levy discussed  how coding is just a very specific list of sequential instructions and that the algorithm could be used for almost anything. Some students even acted out their code to make sure they were writing it in the correct order.
