Criteria for Entrance Into the
2013-2014 S.A.I.L. Program

 

Incoming 3rd Grade Students


Must meet all of the following criteria to be considered for the S.A.I.L.Program:

·   A total score of 120 or above on the OLSAT 2

·    A score above benchmark on the West Babylon Early Literacy Profile Gr. 2 

·     A strong teacher recommendation on the Teacher Rating Scale


Incoming 4th and 5th Grade Students


Must meet all of the following criteria to be considered for the S.A.I.L. Program: 

·    A full scale score of 120 or higher on the OLSAT 2

·    A score of 4 on the NYS Grades 3 & 4 ELA and Math  Assessments

·    A score above benchmark on the West Babylon Early Literacy Profile Gr. 2

·    A strong teacher recommendation on the Teacher Rating Scale

Candidates for the S.A.I.L. Program are reviewed annually in June by the districtwide S.A.I.L. Committee.  Parents and students are notified of entrance into the program by the Office of Language Arts and Testing.
