Mr. Cacciola was appointed Superintendent of Schools on July 1, 2007.  He has worked for the district since he was fifteen years old and has risen through the ranks by applying himself in no uncertain terms. Beginning in 1976, he has held the positions of part-time custodian, custodian, head custodian, chief custodian, superintendent of buildings & grounds, asbestos compliance officer, health & safety officer, purchasing agent, school business administrator, Assistant to the Superintendent, and Assistant Superintendent for Finance. 

Mr. Cacciola holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Long Island University (C.W Post). He also earned certificates in asbestos management from Georgia Tech, Tufts University, and the University of Kansas.  He has taught graduate level education courses at Long Island University and Dowling College.  Mr. Cacciola is a past-president of the Suffolk County Association of School Business Officials. Currently, he is the Vice President of the Suffolk County Superintendent’s Association and a member of the Board of Directors of SCOPE.
