Eagle Pride Soars During Homecoming Weekend

Homecoming

West Babylon School District celebrated its homecoming during the weekend of Oct. 20 with activities that brought the whole community together to root on the Eagles.

To kick off the festivities, West Babylon Senior High School held its pep rally on evening of Oct. 19. On Oct. 20, the homecoming parade made its way down Little East Neck Road. Led by the marching band, the parade featured elementary and junior high students, high school clubs and organizations, the homecoming court, sports teams and the floats created by the freshman, sophomore, junior and senior classes, themed after different countries.

Prior to the start of the football game against the Rocky Point Eagles, seniors from the football and cheer teams were announced and escorted to the field to be recognized. Members of the homecoming court were also recognized on the field.
West Babylon’s varsity football team was the first to score and they dominated Rocky Point throughout the rest of the game, ultimately taking the win by a final score of 51-16.

Performances by the marching band and cheerleaders were the highlight of the halftime show. At the homecoming dance later that evening, Dante Terry and Jacqueline Miller were crowned the homecoming king and queen.
