Senior High School student Eric Donohue has been named a 2018 Coca-Cola Scholar. Each year, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation awards 150 scholars with a $20,000 scholarship to be used toward post-secondary education.

This year, 150,000 applicants applied for the 150 scholarships. The scholarship is based on merit, academics, extracurricular involvement, community service and leadership. After the initial application, the applicant pool reduces to about 2,000 students, then the next round of applications advance 250 students to an interview process in which the 150 scholars are selected.

Scholars attended a leadership weekend in Atlanta, Georgia, in April, where they participated in leadership development training, and visited attractions in Atlanta, including the World of Coca-Cola Museum.
