West Babylon’s track and field team capped off its busiest week of the season by competing in the Molloy Stanner Games at the Armory Track in New York City. Here are some of the highlights:

* Paige Keefer ran a 1:32.64 in the 600m run, breaking the Suffolk County record and placing her first in New York and the United States. She also qualified for the national games.
* Brittany Korsah ran a 39.71 in the 300m dash and finished second against 2016 Rio Olympian Syndey McLaughlin. Brittany also qualified for the national games and is ranked ranked fourth in New York and 19th in the U.S.
* Tara Hauff broke the school record in the girls 1000m with a time of 3:06.46.
* Jamie Cozzi (freshmen) broke the school record in the 55 high hurdles with a time of 9.95 seconds.
* The boys 4x200 relay team (Marc Fabien, Frankie Volz, Frank Pisano and Arthur Woloszyn) broke the school record in a time of 1:35.82.
* The girls 4x400m relay team of Korsah, Nadja Ashley, Dana Beggins, and Keefer continued their winning ways by running a time of 3:57.19 after a full workload during the day. They are still ranked first in New York and fifth in the U.S. They also have qualified for the national games and are poised to bring big things at the Millrose Games on Feb. 11.

The teams are now preparing for the League Championships on Jan. 21 for the girls (9 a.m.-11:45 a.m.) and Jan. 22 for the boys (9 a.m.-11:30 a.m.) at Suffolk Community College West.
