West Babylon Junior High School Community Service Club, with assistance from a few sixth grade art classes, took part in the International Day of Peace Project and the Pinwheels for Peace Project by planting pinwheels – the recognized symbol of the day in the front entrance of the school on Sept. 21.
Pinwheels for Peace is an art project started in 2005 by two art teachers in Florida as a way for students to express their feelings about what’s going on in the world and in their lives.
