In celebration of Earth Day, first-grade students at Santapogue Elementary School learned about the importance of keeping the earth green.
Representatives from the Long Island Center for Art and Science visited each of the classrooms and explained the importance of reduce, reuse and recycle in minimizing our footprints on the planet.
To promote a green world, the students planted seeds in pots made out of recycled newspaper. They also discussed which objects to recycle and how to conserve energy resources.
