Safe Crossings

A representative from the Long Island Rail Road presented the Together Railroad and Communities Keeping Safe (T.R.AC.K.S.) program to Santapogue students in grades three to five. The LIRR’s program, in conjunction with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Department, drove home the message that it is always dangerous and often fatal to trespass on railroad tracks. The children were also encouraged to cross railroad tracks only at designated areas. Thank you to Mrs. Fitzgerald for setting up this important program for our students.
