On Tuesday, Jan 13, 2015 community residents approved a capital project bond referendum totaling $29,953,754. The final vote was 616 Yes and 376 No. The Board of Education, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Yiendhy Farrelly and administration wish to extend their appreciation to all those who participated in this vote.
“The approved bond will enable us to address much needed repairs and renovations to our facilities to ensure that our students receive a quality education in a supportive 21st-century environment,” stated Superintendent of Schools Dr. Yiendhy Farrelly.
This vote of confidence demonstrates that community residents value the quality education provided to students and the importance of maintaining and renovating district facilities for the benefit of students, staff and community residents. BBS Architects, Landscape Architects and Engineers serves as the architect, engineer and athletic fields designer for all construction work included in the bond. “The district’s facilities have not received any significant improvements for more than ten years. The construction program will modernize all buildings occupied by students and faculty, improve interior air quality, increase safety of motorized traffic within school grounds and rebuild athletic fields,” stated BBS Principal Architect Roger P. Smith, AIA, LEED AP.
The district looks forward to the community’s future involvement as the plans and projects proposed in the approved bond become a reality.
