To conclude our “Where in the World is WB?” project, Dr. Farrelly shared photos of her summer! Over the past few weeks, Dr. Farrelly spent time with her girls at Adventureland, Tobay Beach and Splish Splash. They also splashed around in the pool and went to a concert at Jones Beach! Where in the world is Mrs. Carrozzo, grade 7 English teacher? Right here in West Babylon with three of her students from last year. Mrs. C. met with Mackenzie D., Zuzanna O., and Kaitlyn Z. at Gino's Pizzeria for a Team 3 summer book club. According to Mrs. C, for the past six weeks they have read the book "The 5th Wave" by Rick Yancey and enjoyed a couple of slices of pizza while discussing their thoughts on the book.

Ninth-grader Jordan A. celebrated her 14th birthday week with senior Zoe and family in the Adirondacks and Lake George. The celebration continued with friends Sara and Rebecca L, Grace B and Yuvia P. and Sarah-Grace T. at Overlook Beach and Gino’s Pizzeria in West Babylon.



 

Siblings Sean (Grade 12), Anna (Grade 10), Kaitlyn (Grade 9) and Ryan (Grade 9) spent some time in Punta Cana this summer! 


 


JFK Fourth-grader Sadie and her little brother Zachary got to see their Uncle Ray, pitching coach for the Pittsburgh Pirates, when his team visited Citi Field. Sadie also traveled to Pittsburgh with her grandparents, Pop Pop and Juju, to see a game at PNC Park and take in the sites.

The 14U West Babylon Tournament Eagles recently played in a baseball tournament in Fruitland, Maryland. The team includes Senior High School sophomores DJ M., Thomas P., Jack R., Andrew B., Richie M., Matt F., and Tommy D. andnd freshmen Teddy F., Kevin R., and Tyler L. Also on the team were JFK alumni Corey V. and Jack S.


 


Tooker Avenue fourth-graders Alyssa and Adrianna D., Jaelynn B., Meghan S. and kindergartner Aubrey D., along with ninth-grader Bobby S., spent a weekend camping at Wildwood State Park! 


 


Senior Mackenzie J spent a week in Haiti volunteering for Open Door Haiti. This is her third visit to Haiti where she spends most of her time working in the orphanage. This year, she designed and painted a mural in the orphanage with the orphans and volunteers, taught English and distributed 400 handmade bracelets that were made by kids in New York with Mackenzie. She also collected and distributed shoes. 


 


Life is good for South Bay first-grader Mason F! He learned to ride on his brand-new bike without training wheels this summer! After all of that hard work, he spent time relaxing in the pool!


 


Incoming sophomore Cristian E. took a vacation to Yellowstone National Park! He is also training hard for the cross-country season, participating in multiple camps and running in the New York State Parks Summer Run Series.   


 


The West Babylon Eagles 9u Baseball team were finalists in the District 34 Gold Division Championship. The featured Lucas, Jacob, and Noah (Grade 4 @ South Bay); Dean, Leo, Brayden, and Christian (Grade 4 @ JFK); Jacob, Anthony, and Matthew (Grade 4 @ Forest) and Jason (Grade 3 @ Forest). Go Eagles!

 


 

 

It's a small world after all for our Junior High School teachers! The Dell'Isola and Ging families were spotted near Cinderella's castle in Disney! 

 


 

 

Senior High School student Anthony C. shared an update on his Eagle Scout project. Here is a note directly from Anthony: "I would like to thank West Babylon school district, teachers and students that help me with my Eagle Scout project. With your help I was able to gather and send 157 care packages and over 200 thank you letters to our troops stationed overseas. And with additional community support I was able to raise over $1400 for the postage to send the care packages overseas. In addition, thank you to Mr. Egbert for helping with the veteran interview letter booklets."

It was a fun-filled vacation for ninth-grader AJ Z., eighth-grader Kaitlyn Z. and Tooker fourth-grader Jake Z.! Along with their parents, the siblings spent nine days at "The Happiest Place on Earth!"

These girls were #LivinTheDream at the JoJo Siwa concert! The third and fourth-grade friends forever from Santapogue, Forest Avenue and neighboring towns include: Alexis, Londyn, Callie, Alexa, Samantha, Olyvia, Nadia, GiGi, Presley, Bella, Luna, Ariana, Alyssa, and Madeline.

Santapogue fifth-grader Makayla M. played in the USSSA Fastpitch All-American softball games in Viera, FL. She was selected to represent the northeast region of the country and go up against the best of the best! Go Makayla!

Sophomore Nick L. is a man about town! So far, he’s visited Citi Field, home of the NY Mets, the Vessel, the centerpiece of Hudson Yards, the Lighthouse at Fire Island and Patsy’s Pizzeria!
